At Rush Lake Kennels we are wild bird hunters first and foremost. Dogs must possess outstanding noses, temperament, prey drive, natural retrieve, trainability, and bidability.  Our dogs are hunted extensively on wild birds in conditions ranging from open plains to high desert and mountain country. They have to be tough enough to run through cattails, cactus, and sticker/thorn bushes in varied temperatures to both flush and retrieve game. Their health must be excellent including hips, elbows and eyes and their confirmation flawless. We strongly believe that your gun dog should be your family's companion.

All dogs are AKC registered. These are real gun dogs that will hunt in all terrain and conditions.  Dogs that do not meet any of these attributes are not part of our breeding program.  We proudly stand behind our puppies with a 24 month written guarantee.

We raise our puppies in a loving home environment.  All pups are socialized daily with people and other dogs.  We encourage retrieving from an early age beginning with bird wings at four weeks.  By six weeks of age pups are retrieving bobwhite quail and pigeons.  We begin teaching puppy manners and do the right things to ensure a good start on house breaking.  All of our puppies come with the following:

    • Puppy welcome packet that includes AKC paperwork, litter certificate, Housebreaking Pure & Simple, vaccination records, and educational material

    • Leash & collar

    • Rush Lake Kennels water bottle

    • 10% discount on basic obedience class
